I hit the JACKPOT!

Like most Saturdays, I went to some yard sales today. I hit the jackpot at this estate sale I just happened upon. There was so much jewelry there, I was in heaven! So I started digging through the bins and bins full of costume jewelry. Things were priced individually, and as I saw my treasures piling up I was getting sad thinking about how much it would cost. I knew there was no way I could get it all, it would just be too pricey. So since I didn't want to spend too much, but knew I needed a few pieces for making my necklaces, I stopped looking and had the lady add it all up for me. It came to $25!! Oh dear, that just wasn't going to work. She saw me hesitate and said, "Well, its the end of the day...half price! How about you buy the lot of it for $10?" OH MY WORD!! I was soooo shocked and happy! How nice was she?!?!?! So instead of each pair of clip-on earrings being $0.75 she sold them to me for $0.30! I just love finding super deals like that! And I guess it pays to go at the end of the day when they just want to get rid of everything! LOVE IT!!! :) Well, I guess I'd better get busy crafting now....

PS...A couple other great deals today:

Super cute glass pedestal cake plate = $1
Big box of old bottles, including antique Mrs. Buttersworth bottle = $1

my new online shop...

As you already know, I am currently creating necklaces using old clip-on earings that I've found at yard sales and flea markets, and broken glass. They are unique, incredibly stylish, and have that vintage flair that so many love! I'm very excited about these pieces and I hope you will be too!

So I wanted to share with you my new account I've set up to sell these necklaces. If you don't already know, there is a site online Etsy where you can buy and sell handmade items. Its my FAVORITE site to shop! Well I started The Clever Corner account on that site and have listed a few items already! Check it out daily to see what will be listed! These one-of-a-kind pieces are perfect for all females and are ready to adorn your necks!

I'm just so excited about this new journey God has provided for me!! I've been praying for my finances during this time while I'm unemployed, and for a job that I could enjoy. Well God is providing for me, more than I could've imagined. Being able to use the talents God gave me to create, and making money doing it is a DREAM come true!

something old...becomes something new

Lately I've been on the hunt for costume jewelry, or any type jewelry, at yard sales, flea markets, thrift stores, etc. I've had luck at a couple sales:

I stopped in at a yard sale in Yucaipa, CA where I hit the jackpot! I got all this jewelry, plus the cute pink box, for $0.30! Can you believe it?!!! What a steal!
On a road trip I took this summer, I stopped in at a yard sale in Texas, where I found another great deal! I got this box of costume jewelry for only $3!
(a little more than the Yucaipa sale, but still a good price)
I'm using the old pieces of jewelry that were junk to others, and am making new pieces of jewelry that I'm really excited about! They have a vintage flair using old clip-on earrings and broken glass. If you're interested in purchasing a necklace, they are for sale! Here are a few of the pendants, without the chains...
All necklaces are unique, not one alike! If you are interested in having a piece that no one else will have but you, please contact me for more information at:

the first of many...

So this is it, the first of many blog entries for my new The Clever Corner blog. This blog is intended to share my exciting and adventurous treasure hunts with all of you out there who love the thrill of finding something that's been discarded, unloved, and not treasured, and transforming it into something unique and beautiful! I get so sad when people think that things with cracks, scrapes, and minor damages are now pieces of junk. Those items are treasures, you just have to use your imagination! I will show you how I have taken one man's junk and transformed it into my treasure! I look forward to sharing my stories with you and hope you enjoy my adventures of digging through the rubble finding the real possibilities!
